FDA Approves a new colon stimulating and vibrating capsule, which is expected to enhance Chronic constipation treatments.
This new vibrating capsule is designed to improve similar external devices by stimulating the intestinal walls to enhance the easy movement of stool.
Constipation is one of the most reported digestive concerns in the U.S. There is no shortage of prescription or over-the-counter medications for treating constipation. However, the need for something more advanced and effective was quite evident. Continuous research led to external devices such as platforms or belts, popularly called external vibration devices.

The Vibrating Capsule is a product by Vibrant Gastro. The firm derives the idea of such a device from vibrating external devices.
The trial involved around 312 patients from about 90 different places in the U.S is suffering from chronic constipation. The trial run was quite successful, and no adverse reactions were reported among the participants. Not even diarrhea and nausea were reported as a direct cause of the treatment.

Now that the FDA has approved the constipation-treatment device, we can expect the rollout in 2023 in select states. Post this. It may take a minimum of 12 months for nationwide sales.

While using the device, we have to place a capsule in a pod. The pod will then activate the device. Then, the patient has to swallow the capsule with water. Now, there will be a companion app that could be leveraged to assess the treatment.
